Our organization is made up of the School alumni in the United States and Canada that were privileged to have had the opportunity to be educated at the School.  Our objective is to raise funds to help with selected projects in the School and to provide competitive learning opportunities for the young ladies that are currently attending the School.

For the 2015-2016 academic year, we were able to provide a full-year scholarship, sponsoring one student on a need-basis.  This student came from an underprivileged family. She had lost her immediate care; her mother and grandmother.  For the 2016-2017 academic year, we extended the program and raised funds to provide full-year scholarships of $500 each for eleven students (three on a need-basis and eight on a merit basis for high performing students).

In collaboration with the Head of the English Department, a Book Club was formed and we have purchased 100 books by African authors for the Book Club.  We also run a book drive and collected books and school supplies enough to fill two large boxes (26 X 26 inch), which was presented to the school in February 2017.  These books will be in the School’s library for the students to have access to; with the ultimate goal of helping to improve the students reading, grammar and writing skills.

In the past, we have provided water tanks to supply water to the School.  We have also sought professional services to conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of having a constant supply of clean running water to alleviate the challenges faced by the students. We are now embarking on building more efficient restroom facilities in the Administration block for the students to use during class sessions.  This project will provide ten stalls and four sinks with water tanks to supply water.  If you are interested in supporting us for this project, click here to our gofundme page.

Our goal is to help make a difference to the current students and provide them with an environment that will promote learning with enthusiasm and passion, granting them the opportunities that some of us benefited from the Sisters of the Order of the Holy Paraclete (“OHP”).  St Monica, mother of St Augustine, was the first African woman to be canonized as a saint and so when the Sisters of OHP came to Ghana from Whitby, North Yorkshire to set up an educational institution for girls, they named the institution after her, which is our School.
